Medical Updates

Lil is SUCH a trooper.  I keep telling people she's Little Miss Sunshine, and she really is (most of the time).  She tolerates new stuff really well, and is getting better every day at communicating her needs.  She's figured out signing 'potty' will get me to drop what I'm doing & take her to the bathroom - and half the time I lose her on the way there, as she'll run off giggling & make me chase her.  And, as I chase her for the umpteenth time, I try to remember how much I love that little silly independent streak she's got blooming!

In the past couple days, she's had several appointments - yesterday was the pediatrician for a well-child / new patient exam complete with neck x-rays & bloodwork.  Today was the dentist & ENT, along with the audiologist.

Her ears are good, her hearing is good, her tonsils are large, but probably not a real issue - just something to watch.  Her neck x-rays (something that is checked for all kids with Down syndrome) were good, and won't need to be repeated.  The bloodwork that has come back so far is all good - thyroid, CBC - good!

Next week we're off to a checkup with the cardiologist, and later this month the eye doctor.  We're moving forward quickly on our to-do list, and so far, so good!

Our biggest struggle with Lil is still getting her to drink, but even that is slowly improving.  VERY slowly, but it's something.
